- Position is responsible for the oversight, management, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of fund-raising and community outreach special events and programs to support the mission and goals of the organization.
- The Area Director of Philanthropy must be able to work well in a team environment as well as with a range of people and personalities.
- The Resource Development team works collaboratively on fundraising goals and the ability to work efficiently and as a member of a team is a must.
- Ability to recruit, cultivate, motivate and retain volunteers in various capacities (committee, event volunteers, volunteer support, etc.)
- Education/Regulatory Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in public relations, marketing, business administration or a related field, or associates degree with three years experience in community relations or related field.
- Skills:
- At least five years event planning, major gift, fundraising and public speaking experience, preferably in the health care field.
- Ability to work with and relate to internal and external customers.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with knowledge of Raisers Edge.
- Professional Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Since 1978, Hospice of Palm Beach County, Hospice of Broward County and Hospice by the Sea have cared for 200,000 families in South Florida. These three hospices are now one branch of Trustbridge, a community nonprofit that provides support for families facing serious illness 24 hours a day. Our other services include palliative medicine, caregiver support and bereavement programs.
