The center's current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. The center is at work locally, nationally, and internationally with public and private partners to improve health and well-being.

ABOUT THE POSITION The director will bring strategic experience and best practices to foster organizational growth and development aligned with the Georgia Health Policy Center's mission, vision, and goals. The ideal candidate must have expertise in public policy/health policy analysis, including evaluation of health programs, health services, and/or public health programs. The candidate should also have experience working within a participatory research environment allowing them to secure extramural funding to build upon the ongoing research in the GHPC. This position will have responsibilities that include contributing to ongoing research and capacity building projects, as well as maintaining a portfolio of externally funded research, mentoring, and participating in service activities within the school, the institution, and the community. This position is a member of the GHPC Executive Team, providing strategic oversight and management for GHPC.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Serve as a senior leader of the center to ensure mission and strategic initiatives are achieved, positioning GHPC for future relevance and long-term sustainability.
• Share responsibility for financial viability of GHPC through effective resource mobilization and management.
• Manage complex projects that catalyze the growth of people and systems, as GHPC adapts to the changing policy environment.
• Cultivate connection and a culture of belonging among staff and collaborators engaged with the center.
• Build and mentor research and project teams according to GHPC values in a manner that empowers and motivates them to contribute to GHPC's mission, deliver high standards of performance, and support professional development while at the same time enhancing wellbeing and carefully managing workloads.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance research and knowledge management functions internally as well as facilitate external meetings to assist partners in reaching their goals and objectives.
• Produce research, policy and capacity building products that are high quality and are disseminated and communicated through multiple media including: project reports, briefing papers, policy white papers, toolkits, posters and oral presentations, and peer-reviewed research articles to drive effective policy and systems change.·
• Work collaboratively with senior staff to develop and implement a portfolio of impactful projects in your area of expertise, seeking external funding to support this work and ensuring that resources are effectively deployed, and projects are adaptively managed to achieve maximum impact.
• Represent GHPC at external meetings, locally and nationally, and contribute to the maintenance and ongoing development of productive relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to the University.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED

Doctoral degree and seven years' experience or master's degree and nine years' experience or a bachelor's degree and eleven years' experience. At least five years of experience in project management is required. Experience in health policy and previous experience in executive leadership in the nonprofit sector is preferred. Experience collaborating with diverse partner groups, and strong writing and communication skills are important.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have experience in health services research, health policy, or related field; preference will be given to those who have research and capacity-building experience in the public health field or in health policy applications. Research and service experience in such areas as long-term care, community benefit, health reform, program/policy evaluation (particularly developmental evaluation), and action research would be especially valuable.

Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. health care, public health, and social service systems and collaborating with stakeholder groups is preferred. Executive leadership, project management, and strategic priority execution preferred. Experience working in a public health institute.

HOW TO APPLY

The salary for this position will range from $150,000 to $170,000. The position is sponsor-funded and is contingent upon funding.
