    Pediatrician – Clinical Pharmacology

    Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics – Kansas City (CMHC) is recruiting a full-time physician in our Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology.

    will join a robust, innovative, multi-disciplinary division that provides a full range of clinical, educational, and research programs in the subject domain of Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology to the institution and has tremendous support from institutional leadership.

    clinic is one of only a few pediatric precision medicine clinics of its kind throughout the country and collaborates with a team of pediatric researchers, physicians, geneticists, clinical pharmacists, and other subspecialists to assist in elucidating various kinds of medication dilemmas.

    The GOLDILOKs clinic typically see patients who take multiple medications and have a concern about how they interact, experience adverse medication reactions, lack expected benefits from their current medications, or may benefit from medication-related genetic testing.

    A majority of these visits are provided in a telehealth format, but in person options are available.

    This position predominantly involves outpatient assessment for patients, but also provides inpatient assessment of hospitalized patients with adverse drug reactions, drug-drug interactions, unanticipated responses to therapy, and other complex therapeutic issues.

    The GOLDILOKs concept is applicable to medications across all subspecialties at Children's Mercy with currently active research development numerous departments.

    Participates in divisional Quality Improvement projects that involve clinical metrics
    Establish relationships within and outside the institution for research and service promotion regarding Clinical Pharmacology
    Participate in the education of rotational trainees and Clinical Pharmacology fellows
    Explore investigator initiated research projects that can become internally or externally funded

    Ideal candidates for the position will be board certified in Pediatrics, possess a robust interest in developing an academic career, and display an interest in pursuing further education and research in Clinical Pharmacology and Precision Therapeutics.

    Further subspecialty training is not necessary.
