- Provide care to patients under the direction of the RN in the Surgical Services suite.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments, and supplies needed for surgical cases.
- Communicates, interacts, and participates in teamwork on the unit to provide patient care.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process. Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the RN.
- Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to patient's right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
- May have access to POS room or designated areas to transport, assemble, or stock inventory of non-scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations.
- Promotes and displays a positive customer-oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
- Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.

- High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking a Surgical Technician to assist the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions and promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. The Surgical Technician will work in collaboration under the direction of the RN and Surgeon during surgical procedures.

We are the areas first Accredited Chest Pain Center and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. Our hospital is the first in the state of Florida to have earned Atrial Fibrillation with Electrophysiology Services Accreditation. We have an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We provide a specialized Emergency Department tailored to the needs of seniors and children. We have a Kid's ER dedicated to our youngest patients. We are the area's only comprehensive CARF-accredited physical rehabilitation hospital. Our facility has a behavioral health facility. We offer services including cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, oncology, and orthopedics. Other services that we offer include robotic-assisted surgery, critical care, and neurology/neurosurgery. We also offer urology, gastroenterology, obstetrics, and pulmonary and rehabilitative medicine.
