    *Seeking a Operations Generalist*
    Summary:
    Perform various functions across a wide range of operational departments within the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory guidelines and company policies. Assist the Companies President with administrative tasks as needed.
    Job Duties:
    • Assist and fill in for other positions within the Operations group, including but not limited to Equipment, Imports, Exports, and Dispatch. Compile, generate, review, and analyze daily reports as needed for all Operations departments.
    • Utilize Terminal websites, DSL Dashboard, and DSL Mobile to verify availability and booking of containers and track company equipment. Schedule loads and delivery appointments for available containers. Check with steamship lines regarding company equipment. Update customer data, freight bills, spread sheets, Truckmate, and DSL Mobile to ensure containers are scheduled for pickup and deliver. Verify that all charges are guaranteed and collectable.
    • Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of loads using assigned drivers in compliance with the hours of service regulations and ensure live loads, direct deliveries and Last Free Day (LFD) containers are prioritized. Monitor and track driver positions; know location and status of each assigned driver. Keep close tabs on appointment delivery drivers. Research custom holds and demurrage payments and perform customer service related duties as needed, i.e. speak with consignees and/or shippers or their agents.
    • Analyze standard operating procedures and make timely recommendations to improve operational efficiencies and reduce errors.
    • Assist with any special projects as directed by the Director of Customer Service/VP of Operations/Fleet Manager.
    • Perform other administrative, clerical, and operational duties to support the Company's President.
    Qualifications:
    • Data entry experience required.
    • Must be detail oriented with strong research and organizational skills.
    • Must be able to accurately and timely document and track pertinent information to include but not limited to wait times, load information, and customer details.
    • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing) and demonstrate interpersonal skills in a professional, respectful manner to get required results.
    • Must possess intermediate computer skills to navigate and update Truckmate database, Microsoft Office applications, Excel spreadsheets, websites, work with GPS tracking systems, and other related resources.
    • Must be able to analyze and evaluate data from various sources then use sound judgement to provide timely business solutions.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to multitask, set priorities and goals, and assign and follow through required tasks to completion.
    • Must have the ability to analyze information and use logic to address issues and problems related to operational departments.
    • Must have the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events) when relevant to operations.
    Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
