    Job Description

    Teaching Parent position at Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina.

    The primary responsibility is to provide program services, teach skills, and supervise youth in a group home environment.

    Salary: $14.42 per hour plus overtime rate of $21.63.

    A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with two years of experience working with the client population preferred.

    A valid North Carolina driver's license and an acceptable driving record are also necessary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement direct care services according to an individualized service plan.
    • Teach youth skills such as social, self-regulation, independent living, and academic skills.
    • Develop a normalized family-style home environment, providing counseling and support for youth in care.
    • Model appropriate moral, ethical, and professional values for youth, colleagues, and the community.

    Critical Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Thorough knowledge of procedures and performing duties assigned.
    • Ability to perform physical demands associated with daily operational functions, property management, and client interactions.
    • Ability to communicate professionally with consumers, including parents, colleagues, and community service providers.
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure, high-stress environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and emotional control.
