- Properly load correct cardboard for cartons and dividers into former machine
- Monitor forming process and dispose of any incorrectly formed cartons following disposal/recycling guidelines.
- Bail scrap cardboard during and at the end of the scheduled shift
- Safe operation of bailer equipment
- Remove banding from cardboard stacks and dispose of strapping using appropriate methods of disposal.
- Monitor and comply with all changeover requirements to eliminate carton waste
- Assign with former changeovers by removing unformed cartons and stacking safety in designated areas.
- Minor maintenance with training - removes jammed cardboard, minor machine maintenance following all safe work practices
- Perform quality checks including entering data into computer software proficiently.
- Fill glue holders.
- Excellent computer skill set regarding product check responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills regarding machine problems and quality requirements
- Maintain clean, safe, and efficient workstations - dispose of trash in correct disposal methods (cardboard recycling, area cleanliness including used rag recycling). Area must be maintained throughout shift and final cleanup at end of scheduled shift.
- Ability to start equipment and identify basic mechanical issues.
- Follow all safety requirements including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment - PPE (safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, correct lifting methods, product disposal, etc.)
- Support all changeover requirements of commodity product.
- All additional work tasks as assigned.
- Minimum of high school degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
- Ability to stand and walk for periods of time.
- Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required.
- Basic math skill set.
- Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)
- Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers.
- Ability to complete all job assigned computer software requirements associated with product requirements.
- Able to lift to 50 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms, ability to visually inspect product.
- Mechanically inclined to perform minor machine corrections within job responsibilities.
