Job summary
Performs radiographic procedures as prescribed by physician determining proper technique through selection of voltage current and exposure time Positions patient for the proper view of affected area and instructs patient on proper physiological requirements for procedure Prepares contrast media and administers to patient either intravenously or through other body cavities Charts completion of exams and other pertinent information in patient charts Discusses procedure results with departmental supervisor when indicated Participates in quality assurance monitoring and recording outcomes Operates portable radiographic equipment for performance of procedures throughout hospital including medical surgical cardiac care units emergency rooms Works control desk performs PACS duties needed Ensures accurate PACS operation transmission images interpretation Teaches radiography technology students proper procedures x-rays physics equipment operation anatomy duties responsibilities RT Transports assists patients transport imaging departments
