- Direct patient flow and prepare patients for exams
- Facilitate collection of all necessary information required for patient visits. Accurately record pertinent information in the chart and insure necessary patient care paperwork is processed and forwarded in a timely manner
- Accept and return patient phone calls, and insure that callbacks and prescription refills are completed in a timely fashion consistent with physician guidelines and scope of practice as well as clinic guidelines. Document pertinent information accurately
- Assist providers with procedures as directed and maintain asepsis. Perform invasive procedures for which he/she has the training and skills
- Proactively monitor physician schedules for accuracy
- Improve the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance/participation in most inservices/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures
- Actively participate in cleaning of shared work areas and keep exam rooms clean, neat and stocked
- Participate in orientation of new employees
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Current unencumbered licensure in Oregon
- Zero to six months previous experience in acute care and/or an office/clinic setting
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of basic clinical skills to provide patient care
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to work compatibly with physicians, patients and other staff
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and cope with the hazards of a busy, fast-paced work environment
