  • Responsibilities

    The HIM Quality Data Specialist will effectively analyze patient charts after discharge to determine deficiencies within the chart accourding to department policy. Makes decisions covered by standard practice instructions. Has extensive internal contacts which require good oral communication skills to interact with Physicians and Hospital personnel. Handles confidential information regarding patient medical records. Performs all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values of Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

  • Analyze patient charts to determine deficiencies within the chart according to department policy
  • Enter all deficiencies into the Physician or Patient Deficiency Analysis with no more than a 5% error rate
  • Maintain productivity standards by analyzing charts within established time frames:Inpatient Analysis: charts an hourOutpatient, Emergency Department and Day Surgery Analysis: charts an hour
  • Update the incomplete record screen according to procedure, for each chart reprocessed with no more than a 5% error rate
  • Assumes responsibility for cross-checking quality, accuracy and completeness of scanned documents
  • Maintain productivity as demonstrated on volume logs or direct observation
  • Qualifications

    Education: High school dipolma education or equivalent required.

    Experience: Minimum three (3) years general office experience with two (2) years being in the medical field.

    Working Knowledge: Must possess basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office. Must possess knowledge and understanding of Medical Terminology.
