Some of the Responsibilities of the Project Engineer include:
Responsible for the design, specifying, budget preparation, planning and scheduling, procurement, installation and commissioning of capital projects
Develop and implement new processes, improve safety, improve quality, reduce costs, and improve product performance
Communicate with project team and plant personnel to define the functional and safety requirements for project scopes and ensures the project will meet the needs of the plant
Provides engineering support and technical guidance to end users and plant personnel
Evaluates suppliers and contractors to allow for the procurement of equipment, facilities, and labor to complete projects on time, on budget and to acceptable quality standards
Participate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
Perform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
Understand the significant environmental impacts of job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
Some of the Requirements/Qualifications of the Project Engineer include:4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of applied professional experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be highly computer literate
Thorough understanding of automated control systems, computer integrated manufacturing and systems standards especially power distribution, PLCs, drives, man machine interfaces and motion control
Thorough understanding of manufacturing process, tooling, material properties, and engineering standards
Knowledge of statistical techniques, problem solving methods, technical drawings, maintenance techniques and manufacturing techniques are required
Must be fluent in the application of lean manufacturing, cost reduction, statistical process control and optimization techniques
Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD
