Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will take ownership of maintenance and repair tasks at the facility level and with equipment. This person will be a reliable, self-motivated, problem-solving mechanic driven to provide quality repairs.

The schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Saturday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm with regular overtime of about 5 hours per week.

For initial training (approximately the first 90 days), the schedule will be Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
How you'll spend your time at TovalaCompleting maintenance and repair tasks from building maintenance to fixing specific machines.

Executing portions of a preventative maintenance calendar/schedule to ensure reliable operation of facilities and equipment as well as compliance with regulatory requirementsMaintaining documentation of completed equipment maintenance and repairsTraining machine operators and staff managers on proper equipment usageMaintaining a well-equipped and capable Maintenance Shop that can respond quickly to that facility's equipment issuesParticipating in the evaluation of new equipment purchases, installation of equipment, and run-in of new equipment to make it part of normal operationsCompetencies & Requirements3 + years of maintenance experience preferredMust have experience working in food manufacturingFamiliar with electricalExperience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Basic understanding of PLCExperience with SOP's and safetyExperience completing work within industrial HVAC/R systems and certification a plusComfortable with a wide range of tools, machines, and equipmentAlways curious to understand how things workYou're a forward-thinking mechanic - you know how to fix a problem so that it doesn't occur againYou genuinely care for the machines and equipment you work with and want to teach others how to best care for this equipmentYou are a problem solver, you can tackle unfamiliar tasks with resourcefulness and minimal guidancePhysical DemandsComfortable standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.

Able to lift up to 50 poundsComfortable working in hot and cold environmentsWork EnvironmentManufacturing plant environment- can include working outside in all weather conditions, working in confined spaces and poorly lighted areas, walking on uneven, slippery surfaces, and encountering forklift traffic.
