    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and accounting for the company's equity investments and acquisitions, as well as collaborating with internal team and external investment partners to provide technical accounting guidance. This role will also perform technical accounting research and assist with month-end and quarter-end responsibilities related to equity investments.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Serve as Accounting project lead for potential acquisitions, divestitures and other investments such as joint ventures.
    • Collaborate and lead communication with equity investment partners to obtain financial statements, forecasts, and other relevant financial information for accounting and business strategy.
    • Provide technical accounting insight and advice to the Business Development and Legal teams on acquisition targets or divestitures.
    • Partner with various departments on business combination accounting, including developing ASC 805 valuation assumptions, liaising with internal and external subject matter experts, and leading the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
    • Document accounting technical assessments for relevant transactions in memo form.
    • Ensure execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls related to M&A and divestiture activities.
    • Prepare and review journal entries, including support, to record investment and acquisition transactions under ASC 321, 323, and ASC 805.
    • Assisting in month-end and quarter-end close activities with reconciliations for equity investments.
    • Prepare draft 10-K/10-Q disclosures for M&A, investment and divestiture activity.
    • Provide recommendations and alternative views of the accounting treatment and accounting-related issues, and align on the final treatment for significant or complex items.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Technical Expertise - Demonstrating depth of knowledge of ASC 805, ASC 321, and ASC 323
    • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
    • Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
    WHAT TO BRING
    • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, audit, due diligence and/or consulting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Mergers and acquisition and equity investment accounting experience.
    WHAT WILL HELP
    • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA, CMA)
    • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
