    ***Northeast GA area includes Hart EMC, Habersham EMC and Jackson EMC***

    (I) Position administers and conducts distribution substation maintenance activities in a defined geographic region in the state. Initiate and plan scheduled outages, equipment replacement, mobile substation installations, etc.. Assist in the maintenance of equipment at transmission substations. Develop and maintain close working relationship with Member Systems. Coordination and scheduling of contract maintenance personnel. Performs apparatus acceptance testing at distribution substations and assist with testing at transmission substations. Includes operation of the Doble M4000 Power Factor Test set, Vanguard Breaker Analyzer, etc.. Ability to troubleshoot and repair problems with distribution substation class equipment and apparatus. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of distiribution substation maintenance and operation is required.

    (II) In addition to above, position requires proficiency of all aspects of distribution and transmission class substations and their operation. Must be capable of coordination and scheduling of contract maintenance personnel. Performs apparatus acceptance testing at transmission and distribution substations. Ability to troubleshoot and repair problems with transformers, circuit breakers, motorized switches and other apparatus.

    Education: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology

    Experience: (I) Four (4) years substation maintenance, construction inspection, testing or operations. (II) Six (6) years substation maintenance experience

    Equivalent Expereince: (I) Six (6) years direct experience with increasing responsibility. (II) Eight (8) years direct experience with increasing responsibility

    Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): (I & II) Typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.. Physically capable of climbing and heavy lifting. Extensive travel. Some computer knowledge would be helpful.

    (II) Strong communication, excellent organizational, and time management skills. The ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship as necessitated by assignment. Working knowledge of using computer systems operation of the Doble M4000 Power Factor Test set, Vanguard Breaker Analyzer, etc. Some ability to read and interpret electrical drawings; one-line diagrams, wiring connection drawings, and equipment schematics would be helpful. Provides leadership to lower level area coordinators.

    Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
