    Description

At Tive, we imagine a fully-transparent world in which everything and everyone is connected. We innovate beyond what the world thought possible-so what people hold near and dear arrives on time and in full.
We believe (and live) four core values:

    • Transparency First: We make everything visible so that everyone can operate better
    • Always strive to make things simpler
    • We are One Team, we have each other's backs
    • Relentless iteration to optimize and improve
Whether shipped by road, rail, ocean, or air, Tive reduces shipment delays, minimizes rejected loads, and decreases theft, damage, and spoilage. Our customers count on Tive to ensure that their shipments are delivered on time and in full-because every shipment matters.
As the Global Customs & Trade Compliance Manager, you are responsible for the strategic execution of Tive's global market expansion. You serve as the technical authority on how our technology reaches international markets, turning complex regulatory requirements into a streamlined competitive advantage. Your work ensures Tive can scale rapidly into new territories by removing trade and compliance barriers that slow global sales.
This position takes full ownership of Tive's trade infrastructure. You will manage the roadmap for establishing new country entities and internal Importer of Record capabilities to directly support our global reach. By navigating the complexities of international trade, you will ensure our hardware moves through customs without delay and further develop our established global programs.
    Our ideal candidate has:
    • 10+ years of leadership in global customs, trade compliance, and international logistics
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field (Required); MBA preferred
    • Expert-level knowledge of HTS, product classification, and Country of Origin (COO) reviews
    • Extensive experience defining and implementing INCOTERM strategies
    • Working knowledge of global VAT, GST, and indirect tax requirements for international trade
    • Experience managing Export Controls, including ECCN classification and Denied Party Screening
    • Proven success in managing global broker partnerships and duty drawback programs
    • Direct experience managing WEEE compliance and IMMEX (Mexico) programs
    • Strong communicator who leads cross-functional projects across Sales, Planning, and Finance
    • Data-driven, detail-oriented, and process-focused
    • Professional experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
    • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) preferred
    What you'll be doing:
    • Oversee end-to-end customs clearance to ensure hardware moves across borders without delay
    • Drive the establishment of new country entities and IOR capabilities to support global expansion
    • Develop and audit Broker KPIs to ensure 100% filing accuracy and documentation integrity
    • Partner with Finance to manage VAT and GST registration and compliance
    • Advise Sales and Finance on Incoterms and landed costs to protect margins and deal integrity
    • Maintain and audit WEEE and IMMEX programs to ensure Tive remains in compliance
    • Establish a global recordkeeping program to ensure Tive remains 100% audit-ready
    • Convert complex regulations into repeatable SOPs and "Playbooks" for the wider team to follow
    • Execute data and filing requirements to maximize capital recovery via Duty Drawbacks
    • Resolve international shipping issues and customs holds in real-time as the primary backstop
    What does Tive offer?
    • A chance to join what may very well turn out to be the most important company in your career.
    • The autonomy and resources to build what you know how to build.
    • Work with a committed global team that have each others back.
    • Office-based or hybrid options. Your choice.
    • Competitive equity to ensure all of our employees have a sense of ownership in the long-term success of Tive's growth.
