Brighter Solutions is a veteran-owned, award-winning commercial lighting retrofit company specializing in large-scale LED upgrades. We operate on a project-based employment model and are seeking an experienced Crew Lead to lead field installations, oversee technicians, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
This role is intended for seasoned professionals who can lead crews, make on-site decisions, and complete basic field documentation in addition to hands-on installation work.

Assignment Model
- Project-Based Work: Assignments typically last 2–4 weeks
- Schedule: 8–10 hour shifts (often night work)
- Hours: 40+ hours per week during active assignments
- Travel: Weekly travel required during projects
Pay & Role Details
- Hourly Rate: $25/hour
- Per Diem: $35/day when traveling for overnight project assignments
- Lodging: Company-provided during overnight, travel-based assignments
- Role Structure: A leadership role built on trust, professionalism, and clear expectations.
Crew Lead Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee commercial LED lighting retrofit installations
- Install and test LED fixtures, ballasts, controls, and related wiring
- Direct, train, and mentor technicians and apprentices on-site
- Coordinate materials and ensure job readiness
- Maintain quality control, productivity, and safety compliance
- Troubleshoot issues and make real-time field decisions
- Serve as the primary point of contact between crew and project management
- Complete basic digital job reporting, photo documentation, and material verification using company tools
- Verify installation quantities and report discrepancies or shortages
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and workmanship expectations
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial lighting or electrical retrofit experience (required)
- Proven ability to lead crews or function as a senior installer
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for basic reporting and documentation (required)
- Familiarity with SnapCount for lighting audits, counts, or project documentation (preferred)
- Experience with ServiceTitan is a plus, but not required
- Available for travel-based, overnight project assignments
- Willing and able to work night shifts as required
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Must have and maintain personal hand tools typical for commercial lighting installation work
- Reliable, self-directed, and accountable leadership mindset
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work on 6–12 ft ladders for extended periods
- Ability to operate lifts ranging from 12–80 feet
- Ability to safely lift 50–75 lbs of lighting and materials
- Ability to stand, climb, and work overhead for 8–10 hour shifts
Additional Information
Residency Requirement: Candidates must reside in Ohio or within a reasonable driving distance of Barberton, OH. Relocation assistance is not provided.
This is not an entry-level role. Prior hands-on experience in commercial lighting retrofit work is mandatory.
