    Job Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with a DC RN license and advanced certifications for a fast-paced trauma setting.

    Responsibilities

    • Work in a busy Emergency Department treating a wide range of patient populations including trauma, critical care, pediatrics, psych, and urgent care
    • Shift schedule consists of three 12-hour mid shifts per week
    • Expected patient ratios are 1:5
    • RNs may be assigned as bedside trauma nurse and must be flexible to work throughout the ED
    • Must be able to manage procedures including medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusion of blood, and chest tubes
    • Cerner EMR experience is required
    • The ED is a fast-paced environment where RNs coordinate care for patients with complex needs and critical conditions
    • Team manages critical interventions and collaborates with multiple disciplines
    • Role involves high acuity trauma care, including advanced bedside responsibilities
    • Compliance with facility-specific dress code and vaccination/testing requirements may be required
    • Candidates must provide two manager or supervisor references from the last twelve months for consideration
    • Only candidates with a valid US Social Security Number will be considered

    Requirements

    • Active DC RN license required with no pending status
    • Minimum of 3 years recent ER nursing experience in a United States hospital
    • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
    • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
    • CPI certification is mandated for this position
    • Cerner EMR proficiency is required
    • Must reside at least 25 miles away from the facility
    • BSN is highly desired
