    Professional Civil Engineer working in the planning design, construction, inspection and maintenance of a variety of public works projects and facilities.

    Responsible for the design and development of construction plans and specifications for roads,bridges, water supply systems, street lights, street parking, sanitary sewer systems, stormwatermanagementsystems,and other publicworks facilities.

    Reviews field surveys to develop information required for design and construction of public worksprojectsReviewsplansforpublicworks projectsforcompliancewithstandardsReviewsengineeringreports,basisofdesignreports,andregulatorycompliancefilings;ensuresthatreports aredetailed,methodical,andprovideclearlogicfor engineeringdesignsand decisionsMakesrecommendationsforupgradesandimprovements tocityfacilitiesSupervisesthepreparationof costestimatesforpublicworksprojectsDevelopsengineeringproceduresSupervisestheinspectionofvariouspublicworksconstructionprojectsPerformsrelatedworkasrequiredPerformsthedutiesofaProjectEngineer,whenrequired.

    Develops maintenance of traffic plansCommunicatesclearly,concisely,andcomprehensiblyinbothwrittenandverbalformatCurrentlyregisteredasaProfessionalEngineerbytheStateofFloridaCapable of signing and sealing engineering drawings and documents in accordance with the rules of the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and Florida Statute 61G15-23

    Physical Requirements:
    Musthavetheuseofsensoryskillsinordertoeffectivelycommunicateandinteractwithotheremployeesand thepublicviathetelephoneandpersonalcontactPhysical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, suchas, but notlimited to,word processor,calculator, copier,and faxmachineAbilitytostand,walk,move, orkneelmayberequiredtoperform dutiesPhysical capability to effectively use field inspection instruments including, but not limited to: cameras, levels, measuring tapes, survey tools, measuring rods, measuring wheels, and paper, bound, or electronic inspection forms/books

    Reports to work as directed during an emergency as an essential employee of the City of Miami Beach.
