    Director of Transportation
    Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX.

    The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.


    Job Description:


    The Director of Transportation will identify, coordinate and execute the transportation plans and procedures for various events at Circuit of The Americas.

    Responsibilities include Transportation, Parking, & Campus Mobility. Events include, but are not limited to motorsport races, concerts, festivals and private rentals.

    This is a Full Time role that requires onsite availability.


    Essential Functions:


    Ensure Physical Conditions of parking lots and roads - including arranging for cleaning when needed, picking up debris, replacing cones, reporting on damage and coordinating for repairs.

    Organize and Secure Assets - including signs, cones, lights, flags, etc.
    Manage Transportation Fleet. Ensuring trams, carts, and buses are in good operating condition. Test regularly. Arrange cleaning. Keep an accurate inventory and ensure the vehicles are stored properly.
    Prepare and Execute Event Parking Plans. Create a parking plan for all events, including maps with specific designated parking areas. Provide plan to internal event organizer or liaison well in advance of the event. Devise "back-up" plan when appropriate. Include a sign and message board plan, showing exact location of way-finding assets and their verbiage.
    Arrange for -and Supervise- Outside Parking Labor services when needed.
    Personally Attend Events with more than 1500 vehicles or events that utilize three or more lots.
    Oversee On-site Transportation Operations. Hire (directly or indirectly) professional drivers. Provide training sessions for ALL drivers, before allowing them to interact with guests. Establish a code-of-conduct and guest relations policy. Ensure quality of service, provide regular training, and do active surveillance.
    Regularly Bid contractors and review/assess their work. Keep a written record of bids, reviews, and communication.
    Oversee or Coordinate Offsite Transportation services for major or special events.

    Work with Relevant City, County or State Agencies to advocate for roads, lights, and transportation infrastructure - including potentially attending Cap Metro meetings or coordinating with COTA government relations manager to make sure The Company is well represented and is part of the conversation.

    Oversee or Arrange for disabled and mobility-challenged individuals to have transport accommodations.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Confidence when working with both internal and external contacts
    Polished and articulate with strong interpersonal skills
    Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
    Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively
    Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) with web-based resources and internet research a plus.
    Must possess quality leadership and teamwork attitude
    Must possess great attention to detail
    Ability to multi-task effectively, and comfortable jumping in to handle new duties as they arise
    Self-starter, motivated and possesses the ability to make things happen

    Requirements:

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree

    • 5 years of experience in parking and transportation planning for major events is preferred

    Physical Demand & Work Environments:
    Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
    Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
    Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
    Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
    Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
    Ability to work extended hours during events hours per day) in any weather elements.
