Hamilton Connections is looking candidates for a machinist position at a manufacturing company in Bethel, CT. The machinist will also be responsible for setting up and programming CNC machines. This is a temp-to-hire position.
The hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The pay is $30-$40 an hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and program CNC vertical mill center of HAAS and FRYER CNC mills for operator
• Ensure mill center runs smoothly; help oversee operator
• Plan machining time by reviewing work orders, prints, engineering plans and material specifications
• Operate machine tools in the fabrication parts
• Ensure quality of fabricated parts
• Operate support equipment, manual mills, saws, sanders, drills, grinders, etc.
• Read and interpret prints, plans, sketches and shop drawings
• Work with engineers and management to achieve, to spec, quality parts
• Maintain a high level of production while maintaining quality
• Respond to quick turnaround orders
• Keep work area clean
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Trade school graduate or equivalent
• 5 or more years of experience in machining/tool making
• 5 or more years of experience setting up and programming CNC machines
• Knowledge of Mastercam and G code
• Siemens experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of shop practices and skilled in using shop tools and equipment
• Ability to use micrometer, calipers and other measuring tools
• Must be familiar with stainless steel
• Knowledge of shop equipment, such as manual mills, saws, sanders, drills, etc.
• Perform well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
• Able to handle physical aspects of the job, including standing for long periods and heavy lifting
