    Description:

    Registered Nurse - RN to work in Pre-Admit testing for Outpatient Surgery. This position is a phone position; No patient facing responsibilities

    Summary:

    The Registered Nurse facilitates relationship-centered, compassionate, quality care to patients through competent clinical practice and the application of the healing art and science of professional nursing.

    What you will do:

    • Call the patients to get their medical / surgical history, make sure the History and Physical is available utilizing anesthesia testing guidelines
    • Make sure ordered lab work and / or pre-operative testing is complete
    • Provide instructions for day of surgery.
    • Prepare the Epic patient record for the day of surgery

    What you will need:

    • Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
    • Associate degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
    • In Grand Rapids if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire
    • Licensed in the State of Michigan
    • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
    • Specialty credentialing preferred according to clinical nursing practice specialty preferred.
    • One year of experience in a health care setting.
    • Experience in an acute health care setting preferred.
