    Job Description Job Description My client, a well- known global manufacturer, is seeking their Director of Transportation.
    The position can be seated in either Memphis, TN or Mechcanicsville, VA. The Director of Transportation is responsible for all transportation logistics and associated spend within the U.S.; global import/inbound, domestic and LATAM outbound, reverse supply chain operations as well as the technology supporting supply chain transformation (including managing the JDA Warehousing System operations and associated staff across the U.S. and Canada).

    This role provides subject-matter expertise and recommendations to senior leadership according to best practices in Transportation Operations (Inbound and Outbound).

    This position partners with the information technology (IT) and the business intelligence (BI) reporting team to establish streamlined reporting techniques to expedite the data mining processes.

    This role creates presentations on behalf of the company and presents in front of key Customer Partners and Senior Management on performance as it relates to on-time shipping and customer.

    Transportation LogisticsLead logistics planning and execution of inbound and outbound transportation ensuring objectives and service levels are met.
    Manage Third Partly transportation management services, contract, budget, and performance.

    Provide direction to both internal team and vendors to enforce customer complianceDrive favorable results for both inbound and outbound logistics for multi-state distribution network.

    Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and service-level expectations for various transportation modes.
    Lead budget/financial analysis with visibility to transportation spend.
    Drive operational efficiency projects that deliver improvement in customer satisfactions.
    Drive operational efficiency projects that deliver improvement in inbound and outbound metrics and freight savings.
    Transform the short-term and long-term reverse logistics network strategy, including .Distribution Center (DC) returns, process, technology, and transportation carriers.
    Use data and data analysis to drive results across the U.S. Reverse network.
    Continuously assess large retailer returns to lead world class Reverse Logistics operations optimization.

    Provider and Vendor ManagementConduct Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Monthly Business Review (MBR) with all 3rd Party providers to ensure consistent service levels are being met and business needs are addressed.

    Manage vendor relationships and pricing agreements for both inbound and outbound transportation services.

    Drive continuous savings approach by working together with Procurement developing bidding processes to evaluate market conditions and drive savings by implementing new operating model and/or new vendors.

    Ensure service commitments are being upheld and address deficiencies accordingly by managing a continuous operational process, tracking, and management.
    Develop inbound and outbound business models with a Continuous Improvement approach to guarantee Brother leading edge processes and tools in regard to transportation operationsContinuously monitor outbound Parcel/LTL/FTL Freight Cost and Performance to drive new operating models that drive savings and service improvementsWork together with Planning to develop initiatives to optimize the DC 2 DC moves and the cost associatedSupply Chain Technology Advancements and InitiativesStrategize, define, and implement large scale initiatives, such as Warehouse Management System (WMS) platform upgrades and configurationsDefine Warehouse Management System (WMS) requirements for scope of responsibility including warehouse, Third Party Logistics (3PL) and supply chain functionalityLead discussions with system integrator's and software providers for project updates and needed changes to the Scope of WorkImplement and monitor all JDA/WMS functionality through designated teamGuarantee WMS performance across all warehouses in US so impact on Sales nor Service is createdEducationBachelors Degree in Business or Supply Chain ManagementExperienceMinimum 10 years of experience managing a large-scale bulk distribution center and transportation network, and negotiating contracts with vendorsMinimum 5 years of experience on continuous improvement, directing 12+ employees, and managing budgets in excess of $15MSoftware/Technical SkillsExperience with SAP Order ManagementOther Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal skills to interact at all levelsExcellent analytical and mathematical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of applicable federal state regulations regarding interstate distribution and Customer Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CT PAT) guidelinesThis position reports to Vice President, ISCOLocation: Can be seated in either Memphis, TN or Mechanicsville, VA - Occasional Travel to other facilities

    Compensation:
