    Job Description

    The Assistant Controller has previous experience in real estate accounting and supervision of accounting staff. Property management experience is preferred. The candidate we are looking for is a reliable, highly organized and detail-oriented `can-do` team player with excellent communication skills and has the ability to work in a team environment. The Assistant Controller must possess efficient problem-solving skills, including the ability to see `big picture` concepts. This individual is a self-starter and able to reassign priorities daily.

    Pay: $85,000 - $100,000 / Year

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Assistant Controller
      1. Provide training and supervision of all accounting department personnel.
      2. Review monthly financials prepared by general ledger accountants.
      3. Supervise, manage, and coach a group of 10-15 general ledger accountants.
      4. External Audit (Scheduling, Assist Property Accountants, Follow-up with Audit Firms, Owners, Regulatory Agencies, and FPI Management Departments - ensure timely issuance of audited financial statements.)
      5. Customer Service - Act as main owner accounting contact to assure all client accounting needs are being met.
      6. Software - Knowledge and experience of all accounting functionality within Yardi Voyager 7.0, Entrata, and RealPage - Internal control, Efficient processing, Custom reports, etc.
      7. Support and communicate with operational departments within FPI Management, Inc. as necessary to meet owner accounting cut off and report deadlines.

      1. Consistently and fairly enforce community rules and regulations, FPI Standard Operating Procedures
      2. Comply with all Fair Housing Laws and FPI policies and procedures
      3. Promote a professional image by adhering to FPI Management's Dress Code Policy.
      4. Conduct displayed must be of a professional manner when communicating with employees, residents, prospective residents, clients, vendors, and guests while representing FPI Management.
      5. Perform any and all functions as directed by the supervisor, including special project assistance
      6. Responsible for meeting all training requirements for the position (Grace Hill, Safety Meetings, etc.).
    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in an Accounting or Finance discipline.
    • English language proficiency (read, speak and write).
    • Accounting or Finance experience required. Experience in the property management industry, preferred.
    • Must be able to work efficiently in a digital environment (paperless) and have intermediate to advanced proficiency in Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets), and Adobe Acrobat, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Yardi and RealPage experience a plus.
    • Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Is highly analytical and possesses superb attention to detail, organization and multitasking abilities.
    • Must be a creative problem-solver with excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and a positive attitude.
    • Takes great pride in the quality of their work and is passionate about providing exemplary customer service
