The Maintenance Lead is under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Lead must perform tasks with little or no supervision, though he or she consistently keeps the Manager informed of production and goal status.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintenance Lead duties are the following:

• Assist the Manager in daily activities.
• Ensure the safety and productivity of all personnel assigned to them
• Coach and Assist in training new Maintenance personnel
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Ensure work is completed
• Report to the Manager any employee performance or conflict issues.
• Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement

MARGINIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintenance Lead will also be proficient in the following tasks:

• Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by a supervisor.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Work overtime as required.
• Must be able to multi task jobs and help employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance Lead interacts with all facets and levels of the organization as needs arise. He or she assists the Manager in coaching, promoting, orienting, training, scheduling, directing and developing.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Work environment is indoor/outdoor in an industrial manufacturing plant.
• Will encounter mechanical and moving objects hazards.
• Temperature in work areas can exceed 100°ree;F throughout the year.
• Encounter mild dust, dirt, heat, cold, and humidity.
• Moderate to High noise level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: All Maintenance Lead People are expected to perform the following tasks:

• Adapt to changing workload requirements.
• Handle heavy material up to and including 70 lbs.
• Stand/walk continuously throughout the scheduled shift.
• Capable of repetitive reaching, twisting and bending.

All of the above physical activities were described and observed to be essential and could not be modified.

SENSORY/COGNITIVE DEMANDS:

• Communicate with the Supervisor, maintenance personnel and co-workers.
• Understand written and verbal instructions.
• Handle deadlines under pressure.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years of directly related Maintenance experience.
• On the job training is provided for this job.
