Job summary
The Scheduling Coordinator SLPG is responsible for coordinating and scheduling services among St. Luke's Physician Group (SLPG) outpatient practices and various hospital departments.The coordinator completes all appointment scheduling, coordination of services, and facilitating all necessary paperwork, documentation, and communication to proceed with appointments and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and schedules various appointments for patients
- Coordinates and completes accurate basic registration demographic insurance information to ensure timely payments while scheduling appointments as well as collecting pertinent information needed required complete referral pre-certification process
- Determines patients' financial needs assists when necessary
Maintains flow communication by providing information direction to patients identifies other staff members for patient speak with resolve questions concerns - Schedules appropriate pre-operative tests blood work discuses pre-operative instructions with the patient directed physicians schedules coordinate operating room time according physician scheduling protocols Coordinates business clinical paperwork prior surgery using physician-approved forms checklists has paperwork ready surgeon day surgery Continuously reviews surgical schedules ensures optimization block time maximization efficiency achieved Maintains confidentiality materials handled Network Entity proper release of information Complies Network departmental policies employee patient environmental safety follows appropriate reporting requirements Demonstrates/models Service Excellence Standards Performance interactions customers internal external Demonstrates Performance Improvement areas appropriate Clinical Care/Outcomes Customer/Service Improvement Operational System/Process Safety Complies attendance dress code Demonstrates competency assessment range treatment knowledge growth development communication appropriate age patient treated Responds written telephone inquiries from patient carriers regarding planned surgeries Maintains communication among physician patient insurance company hospital times Maintains patient confidentiality complies HIPAA compliance guidelines established practice Maintains detailed knowledge practice management computer software relates job functions Attends continuing education courses requested Attends regular staff meetings Other related duties assigned
