    Charter Wire is seeking a skilled Process Metallurgist II to join our expanding team. In this position, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of our products. Your expertise will be essential in overseeing Advanced Product Quality Planning, upholding our IATF 16949 Quality System, and offering metallurgical assistance.     Key Aspects of the Role:

    • Participating in Advanced Product Quality Planning, including creating and maintaining process flow diagrams, failure mode effects analysis, and control plans for successful product launches.
    • Preparing and managing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
    • Leading corrective action teams in response to customer complaints or internal quality issues.
    • Driving continuous improvement projects that support safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
    • Contributing to the development and oversight of the IATF 16949 Quality System, alongside related training, communication, and documentation.
    • Managing the raw material specification system and supplier approvals, including heat treat procedures.
    • Offering troubleshooting support for materials-related concerns in operations and lab settings.
    • Providing metallurgical support, conducting specification reviews, and contributing to failure analysis for sales and customer interactions.
    • Playing a role in materials selection and design processes for quotations, product development, item creation, and engineering modifications.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or a related technical field.
    • At least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in material selection, product specifications, and failure analysis.
    • Background in leading Problem-Solving initiatives.
    • Experience with IATF 16949 or ISO-9000 quality systems.
    • Knowledge of metallurgy and steel manufacturing, including the use of metallurgical lab equipment.
    • Familiarity with APQP and PPAP processes.
    • Experience in guiding cross-functional teams and resources effectively, even without direct authority, through collaboration and influence.
