    The CHILL (Civility Helps Individuals Live Longer) Facilitator works collaboratively with community agencies, parents/guardians, department staff and school administrators to establish appropriate intervention programs for participating students. Conducts support groups for middle and/or high school students using appropriate curricula, including modules on conflict resolution, anger management and social problem solving.

    Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
    1. Works collaboratively with agencies, school staff, and department staff to establish appropriate intervention programs for participating students.
    2. Conducts educational support groups for middle and/or high school students using the appropriate curricula, including modules on conflict resolution, anger management and social problem solving.
    3. Communicates student progress with relevant agencies, administrators, counselors and parent/guardians.
    4. Completes required intake and enrollment forms to ensure ongoing program evaluation.
    5. Provides written reports to the courts and other community agencies in a timely manner.
    6. May be required to facilitate groups of participating student's parents/guardians to discuss student progress and provide workshops for parents.
    7. Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
    8. Participate in department staff meetings and trainings as requested by the Director of Health, Safety, Nutrition Services.
    9. Works as a team member in Health, Safety and Nutrition Services.
    10. Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
    Other Duties:
    1. Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or closely related field required. Master's degree preferred.

    Experience:
    Three years documented work experience with adolescents preferred. Group facilitation experience preferred.

    Skills/Other: Evidence of strong organizational skills. Ability to accept supervision and direction. Ability to work creatively and skillfully with local school district staff, agencies and parents. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to complete reports in a timely and accurate manner. Valid Michigan driver license and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district and the local school districts as assigned. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina necessary to meet the essential/other duties of the job. Ability to exercise good judgment and to make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines.
