    The team collaborates closely with physicians, surgeons, nurses, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients' functional needs are met and optimized for safe discharge to home or another care setting.

    Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
    Provide therapeutic interventions and professional consultations.
    Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery and safe discharge planning.
    Document evaluations, progress, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

    Equipment Utilized:
    Computer, augmentative communication equipment, telephone, copier/fax, pulse oximeter, blood pressure device, electrolarynx, VitalStim equipment, endoscope, wall suction, pager/cell phone.
    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONSMinimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
    Frequent exposure to body fluids, particularly oral/respiratory secretions, and potential communicable diseases.
    Fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring coordination across multiple disciplines.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation / Certification / Licensure:

    Current Hawaiʻi State license as a Speech Language Pathologist (or ability to obtain upon hire).Current ASHA certification (CCC-SLP).Current BLS/HCP CPR certification.

    Completion of a FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) course. If not completed prior to hire, must be completed within six (6) months of employment.


    Experience:
    Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care setting.
