Director, Software Engineering - SRE Capital One is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead, manage, mentor, and build extremely talented software engineering teams to deliver game changing technologies.

This SRE technology leader will be responsible for managing the cloud infrastructure of our critical platform and the underlying ecosystem of services like feature management, edge infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and all associated components in AWS for one of the largest and most digitally advanced financial institutions serving millions of customers across multiple lines of businesses.

You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: AWS, Java, Python, New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, Swift, Kotlin to name a few.

Influence executive stakeholders
Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of software engineers and build a culture of accountability
Manage a portfolio of diverse technology platforms and projects to build scalable applications that meet our customer needs
Continuously improve software engineering practices
Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
Bachelors Degree
At least 9 years experience in software development
At least 7 years experience in people management
At least 3 years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
13+ years of experience in software development
~8+ years of experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP)
~8+ years of experience in Agile practices
~7+ years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
