    multiple Construction Accountants

    in the

    St. Louis, MO and surrounding areas

    with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage large scale project finances, cost tracking and optimization of cash flow.


    Job Title:
    Construction Accountant

    Compensation:
    $70,000 to $85,000 annual


    Responsibilities:
    Financial Management
    :
    Oversee all financial aspects related to construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring expenses.

    Project Accounting
    :
    Maintain accurate records of project costs, including materials, labor, subcontractor expenses, and overhead costs. Ensure all costs are properly allocated and tracked.

    Billing and Invoicing
    :
    Prepare and review invoices for clients based on project progress and contractual terms. Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure timely and accurate billing.

    Accounts Payable and Receivable
    :
    Manage accounts payable and receivable processes for construction projects. Process vendor invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.

    Financial Reporting
    :
    Generate financial reports and analysis for construction projects, including job cost reports, variance analysis, and profitability analysis. Provide regular updates to management on project financial performance.

    Cash Flow Management
    :
    Monitor cash flow for construction projects and ensure adequate funding for ongoing operations. Coordinate with finance team to optimize cash flow and manage liquidity.

    Contract Compliance
    :
    Review project contracts and ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions. Identify any discrepancies or potential risks and work with project teams to mitigate them.

    Cost Control
    :
    Implement cost control measures to minimize project expenses and maximize profitability. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

    Tax Compliance
    :
    Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements for construction projects. Coordinate with tax advisors and prepare necessary documentation for tax filings.

    Audit Support
    :
    Assist with internal and external audits of construction projects. Provide documentation and support as needed to auditors during audit procedures.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred, but not required

    Previous experience in construction accounting or project accounting preferred

    Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Buildertrend, NetSuite etc.)

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

    Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting

    Knowledge of construction industry regulations and practices is a plus
