Hourly Rate: $ $25.45
Job Summary
Paraprofessional Educator
Under the general supervision of a certified teacher, the Paraprofessional Educator provides instructional and non-instructional support to students in Elementary School. [middle, and high school] The position assists with academic and behavioral/emotional development, classroom management, record keeping, and other duties as assigned to ensure a safe, productive, and engaging learning environment.
Paraprofessional Educator Non-Instructional Duties (PPE NID):
The PPE NID, under the direct supervision of a regular teacher, performs non-instructional duties and supports teachers in elementary, middle school, and high school settings related to instructional curriculum, such as:
Assists classroom teacher with research related to instructional student support or curriculum.
Gather materials and resources related to lesson plans.
Assists with monitoring student progress, compiling and entering student data or other related information for students.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Salary: $23.52/hour

Paraprofessional Educator Direct Instructional Support (PPE DIS):
The PPE DIS, under the direct supervision and in close and frequent proximity of a certified classroom teacher, provides instructional support to a student or group of students (Elementary, Middle School, or High School settings), such as:
Provides one-on-one tutoring if such tutoring is scheduled at a time when a student would not otherwise receive instruction from a teacher;
Provides instructional support under the supervision of the regular classroom teacher (regardless of setting/location) for home health or homeless students;
Support students with academic and behavioral/emotional challenges under the direction of a special education or regular education teacher.
Assist with classroom management in both resource and inclusion settings.
Maintain accurate records and data, including input relevant to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Perform clerical duties as needed to support classroom and school operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by school administration in accordance with department policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet ESSA/NCLB Paraprofessional requirements via one of the following:
1. 48 semester credits that are baccalaureate level from an institution of higher education with institutional accreditation recognized by the USDOE, must have a minimum of:
3 credits math, and
3 credits in English; OR
2. Associate degree or higher from an institution of higher education with institutional accreditation recognized by the USDOE; OR
3. Passing score of 459 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment provided by Educational Testing Service.
Salary: $25.45/hour

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of age-appropriate educational practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow directions and work under supervision.
Competency in basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, approximately 15–19 hours per week.
Work aligns with the academic school year. Specific hours may vary according to school requirements. No work is scheduled during school breaks or holidays
Working Conditions
School environment with exposure to typical classroom conditions.
May require occasional lifting of materials and active engagement with students.
