MED/SURG Unit SecretaryLPNFull Time - 72 Hours per Two Week Pay PeriodVarying 12 Hour ShiftsRotating schedule of every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holidayReporting to the nurse manager, coordinates daily activities in the nursing unit.

Performs general clerical functions. Answers telephone and provides appropriate information. Types various records, schedules, forms, reports and minutes. Copies patient or department information as needed. Processes patient care orders either manually or by computer. Files patient information in the medical records. Orders stock supplies for department.

Will assist with patient transport, passing trays, answering phones and call lights, running for needed supplies and items, and performs basic patient room preparation.

Administers outpatient services and injections as directed.

LPN's may perform head to toe assessments and pass medications to a team of patients as neededRequirements Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Iowa-preferred.

Advanced Computer Skills required. Good communication and organizational skills are required. A high priority for the position will be to hire someone with office experience, with demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and communicate effectively
