    Overview:

    DataSoft Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Molecular Analyst to join our client in Jacksonville, FL. This scope of work is for Molecular bioinformatician analyst to provide technical skills in bioinformatics and molecular sequencing analysis and reporting for the Newborn Screening (NBS) program.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop and maintain production grade and professional quality bioinformatics workflows for Illumina next generation sequencing data for NBS as specified by the Department.
    • Deploy bioinformatics pipelines locally and on the cloud as specified by the Department.
    • Adhere to best software engineering principles while performing services under this SOW.
    • Correct issues in the bioinformatics eco-system, communicate and document them as directed by the Department.
    • Provide bioinformatics support to upstream laboratory and downstream interpretation teams and help diagnose problems as specified by the Department.
    • Manage genomic data life cycle (creation to archival and restore) as directed by the Department.
    • Develop, manage, and curate databases for the analysis as specified by the Department.
    • Provide a monthly status report that addresses on-going development and curation and submit it to the Contract Manager with the invoice.
    • Train and support other researchers in the use of bioinformatics pipelines and assist them in the analysis of genomic data as specified by the Department.
    • Evaluate NGS analysis tools, execute data analysis and generate reports in production as specified by the Department.
    • Adhere to compliance requirements (CAP/CLIA) as follows.
    • Identify, implement, and maintain data quality control and management programs as specified by the Department.
    • Provide a monthly status report addressing ongoing quality control and management programs and submit it to the contract Manager with the invoice.
    • Attend trainings approved by the Department to ensure the Contractor's knowledge remains current. Provide follow-up report to the Contract Manager within seven business days of training detailing training received.

    Qualifications:

    • PHD with at least two years of work/research experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry or other related field OR Bachelor of Science (BS) with three or more years of work/research experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry or another related field.
    • One year of experience using standard analysis software and demonstrated exposure to sequencing data analysis.
    • One year of experience with deployment, validation, configuration, and development of customized bioinformatics workflow as it pertains to Newborn Screening samples.
    • One year programming skills in C++ or Java; Programming skills in R, Python, Perl, BASH or another related field.
    • One year experience performing exploratory data analysis as it pertains to Florida Newborn Screening Samples.
