Job Description
You will be the founding engineer. You will need to possess both the technical skills of an A-level developer and primary engineer and the operational strategy and management acumen of a founder. You will be focused on ensuring FWD's technology fully serves its business strategy.
Technical Leadership
The CTO will be responsible for building a mobile app, including selecting a tech stack, designing the app architecture, developing the backend, including API for iOS and Android, building the recommendation engine, implementing a scalable cloud-based infrastructure, testing and establishing security and site integrity, along with the engineering for payments. The technical work requires strong coding skills, relevant experience and the ability to stick to an agile development workflow.
Operational Management
Along with the technical aspects of the position, the CTO will be responsible for building a stellar in-house development team, hiring, managing and scaling the engineering and data analytics team. You will need to grow and lead through major product launches and address challenges that come from rapid growth. You will also be responsible for developing and executing operating and capital technology budgets and managing compliance with all technical requirements, laws, and regulations.
Qualifications
Previous successful experience as a CTO is required, with at least five years in software or mobile app development. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of building and growing a solid development team. In-depth understanding and experience in social networking, dating, and/or chat is strongly preferred. Fundraising acumen is desired.
