Position Available:
Superintendent - Heavy & Civil Infrastructure Underground-SWPPP cert.
R-2 Contractors is looking for a dedicated and experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our team. This exciting opportunity requires willingness to travel as needed to and from different job sites.

Salary:
$160,000 $200,000 annually DOE

Role Purpose
The Heavy Civil Superintendent is the person of responsibility R2 Contractors' heavy civil projects.

This role protects R2's ability to work by ensuring projects remain compliant with PNW Storm water prevention and local, state, and federal stormwater regulations while allowing production to continue.

This is a field leadership role, not a desk job.

The Superintendent has full authority to direct crews, stop work, and require corrective actions when environmental risk threatens the company.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental & Stormwater Leadership PNW Storm water prevention.- SWPPP
Serve as the person of knowledge and compliance on assigned heavy civil projects.
Own compliance with all applicable regulations.
Ensure no sediment, turbidity, or contaminated runoff leaves the jobsite.
Collaborate with clients and construction management to determine project budget and timeline
Create cost estimates for labor, materials, and other project costs
Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
Hire and manage subcontractors; assign work accordingly
Develop schedules for crews and subcontractors
Maintain daily job site logs and report to management
Adjust operations as necessary to meet construction deadlines
Apply cost-effective and efficient management techniques
Track daily operations and submit reports for decision-maker approval
Communicate progress, changes, and needs clearly across teams
Assist in invoice preparation and submission
Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor project budgets
Understand project contracts and document out-of-scope work
Handle material procurement and participate in project meetings
Lead and manage field teams with accountability
Conduct effective daily and weekly meetings

Requirements:
Experience supervising foundation or structural work on Power Projects (Substations Foundations) construction sites required to qualify
Ability to lead and manage field crews and subcontractors
Familiarity with excavation, concrete, and layout work
Prior experience in a Superintendent role
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); Microsoft Project a plus
Willingness to be trained in new software systems
Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable
Highly organized and detail-focused
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Willing to work long hours in varied conditions

Field Execution
Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers.
Stop or modify work when environmental risk threatens compliance.

Inspection & Documentation
Perform weekly and rain-event inspections.
Maintain inspection logs, photos, corrective actions, and compliance records.
Prepare sites for regulatory audits and inspections.

5+ years of heavy civil construction experience including utilities, earthwork, roadways, and infrastructure.
