    ** TEMPORARY SUMMER CAMP POSITION**

    ** MAY 20th2024 THROUGH AUGUST 16TH 2024**

    Starting salary is $12 per hour

    Summary/Primary Purpose: This position protects, guides, stimulates, and helps the children in our program. This role shares in developing our programs and procedures. Additionally, this role acts as a counselor, teacher, spiritual leader, confidante, and role model.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare for daily lessons and assist in planning physical activities.
    • Lead and participate in all aspects of the program: recreation, snack, craft, pool, field trips, etc.
    • Organize snacks.
    • Deliver Christian devotions.
    • Enforce facility policies including no swearing, no alcohol consumption, no drug use, and no violence.
    • Manage equipment check-in and check-out, ensuring items are stored correctly.
    • Perform basic cleaning tasks as necessary such as sweeping, wiping tables, spot mopping spills, emptying garbage cans, and other assigned cleaning duties.
    • Supervise computer usage.
    • Record and report accidents.
    • Execute opening and closing procedures including door operations, light and equipment management, and equipment setup and storage.
    • Assist in transporting children to and from field trips.
    • Driving responsibilities are integral to this role.
    • Undertake additional duties as delegated.
    Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

    Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED

    Additional Information

    Qualifications: The criteria below represent the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.
    • Ability to be adaptable and manage multiple projects or tasks concurrently
    • Proficiency in accessing payroll, timekeeping, and personal data through a web-based system.
    • Administrative competencies including operation of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail, and filing.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and capability to sustain effective working relationships.
    • Demonstrated capability to handle sensitive matters.


    Other Qualifications: Must clear all relevant background checks. Must hold a valid driver's license from the state of residence. Must be authorized through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must be capable of driving a 12-passenger van. Must complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of employment, as established by The Salvation Army.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR and First Aid certification. Safe Kids Nebraska Childcare Transportation Training.

    Physical Requirements: The job's physical demands include engaging in strenuous activities related to recreational engagement with children. Reasonable accommodations may be arranged for individuals with disabilities to perform the necessary functions. Employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and run. Must be capable of lifting a child up to 50 pounds.

    Working Conditions: Required to match the energy levels of energetic children. Will be frequently outdoors in varying weather conditions and sunlight exposure. Noise levels range from moderate to loud.
