    Manufacturing Manager (Foundry Facility)

    Location: Elmira, Michigan (Onsite)

    SUMMARY

    Directs and coordinates activities of the mold, core, finishing, scheduling, pattern set-up, and melt operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervision.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement regarding a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
    • Promotes the company culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company.
    • Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Promotes generally accepted lean manufacturing initiatives and concepts plantwide including but not limited to: Visual Factory, Six Sigma, 5-s and continuous improvement.
    • Confers with the Facility Manager to formulate and set strategies, policies and performance targets for their areas of responsibility.
    • Leads, manages and coordinates departments to achieve desired business unit results, and performance.
    • Communicates company philosophy to subordinate superintendents and supervisors and cascades company culture.
    • Reviews production schedules with Facility Manager to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
    • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
    • Assists with operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
    • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
    • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices.
    • Resolves employee relations issues that may arise in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
    • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) required, and Foundry experience.
