    HDR currently has an opening for a Mechanical EIT (or ability to obtain EIT) with the technical skills and desire to help support our mechanical section in Charlotte, NC.


    The engineer will perform innovative designs of facility and building-related mechanical systems over a variety of markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, and Federal.

    This person will coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from the planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration.

    This individual will support senior mechanical engineers and will be responsible for supporting the development of drawings, specifications, and related engineering calculations, as well as field inspection, the resolution of RFIs, and the review of shop drawings during construction.

    This individual should be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills with a passion for delivering creative, technically excellent design solutions.

    Create detailed designs of building-related mechanical systems for a variety of markets (healthcare, education, and science, industrial, and environmental), including plans and specifications, site layouts, and size and select equipment.

    Support the production of technical documents.
    Perform life cycle cost analyses and process calculations and perform hydraulic analysis calculations to develop hydraulic profiles.
    Prepare design drawings with BIM/CADD platforms for construction documents.
    Support construction phase implementation of infrastructure improvements by providing engineering services during construction. Support design by providing field support as necessary.

    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
    Some travel is required
    Strong communication skills, self-motivated, organized, and flexible
    BIM/Revit experience
