    Responsibilities


    The Health Unit Coordinator attends the nursing station performs clerical and reception duties and requests supplies equipment and services as directed.

    Performs clerical duties for patient admissions discharges and transfers. Maintains Census Activity Worksheet and other pertinent records. Checks patient charts for completeness. Obtains patient records/documents as requested. Processes physician and other healthcare team orders. Transfers orders to appropriate forms/departments/personnel. Answers patient call lights and in-coming telephone calls. Directs calls to appropriate personnel. The HUC may assist nursing in the retrieval and delivering of medications per the unit standard.


    Qualifications

    Requirements:
    HS Diploma/GED

    The ability to read write and speak English Fluently


    Preferred:
    3 months related experience in an acute care setting

    Medical terminology

    Health Unit Certification strongly preferred


    Pay Range
    $ $21.40 /hour
