    Opening Date: 04/17/2024Position Summary The Division of Allied Health Sciences is seeking Adjunct Instructors for lecture and/or labs for Jefferson County School's Med Ed Program.

    As an adjunct professor, you work with students at higher education facilities to provide them with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career.

    Your ability to work on a course-by-course basis gives you the flexibility to choose when you want to work and when you don't.

    Duties and Responsibilities Typical duties of adjunct instructors include but aren't limited to:

    Teach community & technical college students in a specific field of expertise and engage with students to help them learn.

    Review/refine a class syllabus to include instructor-specific contact information and course policies and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and college standardsPlan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignmentsGrade assigned papers, quizzes, and examsAssess students' progress based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinationsReport student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyzing student dataCollaborate with colleagues on course curriculumAdvise students on how to be successful in classStay updated on innovations and changes within their course field Minimum Qualifications EducationAssociate's degree or higher in medical technology or clinical laboratory science or related field.

    Completed a clinical laboratory program or internship through a hospital-based program or as part of their educationExperiencePrevious experience in a healthcare setting Teaching or training experience, preferredExperience using Learning Management Systems (ie.

    Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace), preferred Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to communicate clearly and concisely while speaking and in writingAbility to teach utilizing real-world experienceCan utilize email and Blackboard (our learning management system)Demonstrates passion about their academic field and education in general Licensure/CertificationActive national certification as a certified medical lab assistant (CMLA), certified medical lab technician (MLT), medical technologist (MT), clinical laboratory scientist (CLS), or medical laboratory scientist (MLS)Salary depends on degree level.
