    Job DescriptionJob Title PhlebotomistShift nights, days and pms are all needed throughout a 6 week schedule. every third weekend Location: Grand Forks, MN 56721Assignment Length: 13 weeks contractPay Range: $33/hr

    Job Description/Additional Details:

    JOB SUMMARY:

    1. Performs patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
    2. Understands the phlebotomy processes and techniques in order to obtain quality blood specimens to ensure that correct decisions are made regarding specimen collection.
    3. Performs, interprets and reports point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
    4. Processes laboratory and patient reports according to standard operating procedure, e.g. printing, recording, distributing, faxing, filing, and retrieving.
    5. Recognizes problems, takes appropriate action, documents problems and corrective action, and follows protocol to notify the Supervisor of problems in a timely manner so as not to jeopardize patient care.
    6. Actively communicates throughout the shift and manages priority requests in a courteous and timely manner to ensure effective department workflow. Follows up with STAT, ASAP, and Pre-op draws to ensure turnaround times are met.
    7. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
    8. Perform other job duties as needed or assigned by the client.
