- Admission assessment and pre op preparation.
- Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management & adult education to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care.
- Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
- IV insertion and maintenance.
- Monitor and assist with procedures, monitor and deliver moderate sedation, IV medications and contrast dye injections.
- Point of care testing as directed.
- Specimen preparation and reporting according to hospital policy.
- Collaborative team approach, coordinate and direct care with vascular providers and medical imaging staff.
- Educate patient and family regarding preparation, intra procedure and post procedure care.
- Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Act as mentor, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator for students and new colleagues.
- Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
- Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.
- National certification preferred, along with 1-2 years acute cardiology or ICU experience.
- Maintains education/certifications as required by department and regulatory agencies.
- Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes all mandatory training.

Now is the time to join our exception team known for quality care and excellent outcomes in outpatient procedural nursing.
Our Vascular Access Center is located in our Medical Office Suite providing diagnostic procedures in an outpatient setting. Working with a team of medical imaging staff, we provide scheduled procedures Monday - Friday.
Our highly trained nurses provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care including moderate sedation, procedural assistance, and patient education from the time the patient arrives until time of departure.
