Description

• Performing duties related to safe operation of diesel and electric drills at an advanced level
• Drilling quality primary and secondary blast holes, ensuring proper depth and collaring of drill holes
• Identifying and reporting mechanical issues on the drill, recognizing worn bits needing replacement
• Recognizing hazards when drilling near banks and high walls
• Operating drills, moving power cables, and executing various drilling tasks
• Assisting maintenance personnel with equipment changes and ensuring quality control post-drilling
• Executing other duties as necessary, communicating effectively with blasting crew
• Meeting qualifications of operating mobile equipment, understanding drill patterns and blasting operations
• Ability to lift heavy objects, following safety guidelines and procedures
• Required High School diploma or GED

Criteria/Conditions

• Proficiency in English for verbal and written instructions and safety procedures
• Ability to adapt to a potentially demanding work environment
• Role categorized as Safety Sensitive
• Exposure to varying work conditions in a mine or manufacturing plant setting
• Regular requirement of personal protective equipment for safety
