This position is considered a **trainee** who is learning the mechanics of sprinkler system installation. This position may be responsible for site clean-up, unloading, staging, and distributing work material to other employees at a job site. Position will also cut and thread pipe. May install and test fire sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Sprinkler Fitter. Position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Sprinkler Fitter.

The **Apprentice** is also responsible for assisting in maintaining a clean, well-organized vehicle and ensuring a safe environment for his/herself, co-workers, and customers.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Install, test, and service fire sprinkler systems

+ Cut and thread pipe and manage material

+ Assist in the installation of valves, couplings, and other fittings

+ Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment

+ Learn construction project skills, including reading blue prints

**Qualifications:**

+ Basic mechanical and math skills

+ Must exhibit the initiative to learn the skills of the trade

+ Ability to work independently with limited supervision

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
