    Key Responsibilities

    Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve physical or developmental dysfunction, promoting independence in activities of daily living.

    Reassess treatment plans regularly to ensure progress and adjust goals as needed.
    Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapy programs and safe activities, providing written instructions for home care.
    Order, adapt, and instruct on the use of adaptive equipment to enhance safety and independence at home.
    Document all care provided, including admissions and daily notes, adhering to professional and departmental standards.
    Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and discharge planning.
    Supervise therapy assistants and instruct home health aides/CNA staff in therapy follow-through.
    Participate in team meetings, educational sessions, and special projects to support quality care and departmental goals.
    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
    Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in New Mexico
    BLS Certification
    Valid driver's license with current auto insurance
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    At least 1 year of supervised clinical experience in an acute or rehabilitation setting
    Home health experience preferred
