    Reporting into the National Finance Director, the successful incumbent will work closely with and support the leadership team of the East Blended business unit.

    This role's key accountability is to establish the strategic direction for the business units while developing and leading complex cross-functional strategies to address and develop process improvement initiatives.

    Success in this role will require a self-starter, with a strong analytical and accounting mindset, who is keen to analyze the financial results and understand operations of Wolseley's core business.

    The ability to listen, interpret, influence, negotiate, inspire and challenge are all vital to performance.

    What you will do:
    Lead a team of two direct reports, focusing on mentorship and development within the team.
    Provide insights to enable business leaders to identify opportunities for growth and to increase shareholder value.
    Engage as member of the business unit's leadership team to influence and impact financial and non-financial decisions.
    Leading all forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities required for each business unit through regular business review meetings designed to address market challenges
    Collaborate with VP of East and GMs to define, plan, and execute on strategies and initiatives
    Review business unit performance including monitoring and reporting, as well as identifying and communicating areas of improvement

    Overseeing the preparation of business unit level reporting to the executive management team for strategic imperatives, financial performance, and headcount commitments.

    Connecting macroenvironmental data to business performance to identify trends and drive focus.
    Prepare monthly Regional Business Review deck(s) and assist VP/GM with presentation preparation
    Review financial models and rationale for capital expenditures and monitor performance against approved budget
    Review monthly SOX and Base Financial Controls compliance testing such as Revenue Cut-off, Inventory Cut Off and Credit Note Review and demonstrate and promote ethics and integrity throughout all layers of the business
    Financial modelling for special and ad hoc projects at the business unit level and provide analysis and insights needed for decision making
    Provide support as it relates to understanding financial policies, processes, concepts and results
    Work collaboratively and liaise within the broader Finance team to share best practices, knowledge, deliver superior results and improve collaboration across the team
    Develop excellent working relationships with stakeholders

    What you will bring:
    University education in Business
    Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA)
    10+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, business partnering
    Focus on compliance, controls and ethical behaviour
    Oracle EPBCS/GL, Power BI, Tableau, experience preferred
    Expert in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel – Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Charts, etc.)
    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills
    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Excellent attention to detail with a focus on reporting accuracy
    Ability to balance working independently while providing a high level of customer service
