    The Pharmacy Coordinator is a Pharmacist position involved in the coordination of the daily activities of the assigned practice area. This position works closely with the pharmacy supervisors and manager/director to ensure that the practice area has appropriate staffing levels, staff are compliant with hospital and department policies and competencies, and ensures area adheres to federal, state and local regulatory guidelines.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Oversight for scheduling of assigned pharmacists, residents, and/or technicians.
    • Responsible for development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
    • Leads staff development projects (design, implementation, measuring impact).
    • Assists in planning, design, implementation and demonstrates the value of pharmacy services.
    • Assists with the recruitment of new employees for the department. Provides educational lectures (UMMMC, State/Local, National).

    Position Qualifications:

    License/Certification/Education:

    Required:

    • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent
    • Must be a Registered Pharmacist in Massachusetts.

    Preferred:

    • ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency experience preferred

    Experience/Skills:

    Required:

    • Minimum of five years' experience as a Pharmacist with three to five years within a hospital environment preferred.
    • Must have a positive work ethic, motivate other team members and promote a professional work environment.
    • Expertise in Sterile compounding
    • Expertise in Sterile compounding
    • BCSCP (achieved or in progress)
    • Minimum 3 yrs hospital pharmacy experience (or 1 yr of hospital experience if completed a PGY1)
    • Strong communication & leadership skills and displays Standards of Respect in all interactions
    • Desire to contribute to pharmacy process improvement, as well as departmental and institutional strategic goals
    • Fosters team engagement
    • Maintains skill as a pharmacy practitioner in area of practice

    Schedule Details: Full Time Days (7A-330P) Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend coverage
