    Creighton University is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator for the Global Engagement Office.


    Position Summary

    The Study Abroad Global Programs Coordinator of Special Global Programs is responsible for the coordination and management, and support of university-sponsored Special Global Programs for: Faculty-Led Programs Abroad, Global Scholars Program, Arrupe Global Scholars and Partnership Program, and other programs outside the study abroad classifications of exchange and/or affiliate programming. The Study Abroad Global Programs Coordinator is an important position that will support the Creighton University mission to educate global citizens and provide an integrating vision of the world through a comprehensive education that prepares students to contribute to the betterment of society in an increasingly complex world. Reports to the Director of Study Abroad with Global Scholars and Arrupe Global Scholars Partnership Program oversight and collaboration provided directly by the Vice Provost for Global Engagement.

    Responsibilities

    • Integrate Creighton's Ignatian mission and vision in all University-sponsored programs.
    • Coordinate with faculty, staff, administration, and external constituencies in the development of new Faculty-Led Programs Abroad (FLPAs) and the on-going evaluation of existing programs.
    • Collaboratively work with faculty, deans, and other stakeholders in the planning and coordination of FLPAs.
    • Work in partnership with departments university-wide to support the recruitment, acceptance, advising and support of students participating in the Global Scholars Program, both current and potential program participants.
    • Work with Common Home Project partnership location liaisons, within the GEO and abroad, to support Special Global Programs in the Common Home Project locations abroad.
    • Serve as main GEO liaison with Creighton schools / colleges and other relevant units in the coordination of Special Global Programs (listed below), Faculty Led Programs Abroad (FLPAs), and other similar initiatives.
    • Work in partnership with departments university-wide to assess and implement risk-management assessment and tracking of travelers, programs, and locations abroad.
    • Oversee diversity initiatives in study abroad and special global programs.
    • Manage scholarship application and award process for study abroad participants.
    • Participate in special programming that supports internationalization of the Creighton campus, such as cross-cultural education events, International Education Week, etc.
    • Establish and maintain professional networks with related local, state, and national and international organizations and agencies.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in education, marketing or field related to international education.
    • Past participation in study-abroad or experience living abroad essential.
    • Prior experience in a higher education setting, working with study abroad or extended off-campus programs preferred.
    • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
    • Significant advancement in master's degree program in related field preferred.
