    Job Summary

    We are seeking a dedicated professional to ensure safe procedures are implemented in the delivery of cardiac services to patients.

    This role requires effective management of technical equipment and adherence to safety protocols.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Ensure the safety of procedures during the delivery of cardiac services.

    Pass the Monitor Technician Certification and complete the annual Telemetry Review.

    Demonstrate proficiency in using and caring for all technical equipment and supplies, including x-ray and film processing equipment.

    Identify equipment problems and safety hazards, and take appropriate actions for repairs.

    Understand the operation mechanics of various Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab (CCL) systems to troubleshoot issues and correct deficiencies.

    Maintain a downtime log and accurate procedural logs or technical notes.

    Accurately obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data.

    Assist in preparing patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.

    Educate patients about the procedure both before and after it takes place.

    Complete required documentation, including X-ray requisitions and film labels, accurately.

    Handle cine films properly, including mailing and retrieving films as necessary.

    Check supplies for expiration dates regularly and identify expired equipment in a timely manner.

    Maintain orderly and clean supplies, ensuring that par levels of all necessary materials and radiographic equipment are preserved.

    Prepare the procedure room and layout necessary supplies prior to each procedure.

    Aim to maintain turnover times within 15 minutes while scrubbing with cardiologists and demonstrating familiarity with their preferences.

    Uphold aseptic surgical techniques throughout invasive procedures and maintain universal precautions.

    Verify the correct identification of patients, ensuring all films and medical records are properly labeled.

    Confirm that all consents and low-risk criteria are in place.

    Follow established policies and procedures regarding operation, troubleshooting, service contact, quality control, and archival systems.

    Required Skills and Experience

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

    Experience with permanent pacemaker placement is preferred.

    Familiarity with the use of Impella and balloon pumps is required.

    Certifications and Licensure

    Current IABP Certification.

    Successful completion of Monitor Technician Certification and Annual Telemetry Review.

    BLS and Radiology certification required.

    Schedule Notes

    Day

    Shift:
    7:00 AM - 6:30 PM

    Hours Per Week: 40, typically 4 days a week

    Weekend Requirement:
    Weekend shifts required as needed

    Holiday Requirement:
    Available for one summer and one winter holiday

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    Experience in the Mac lab is preferred.

    Familiarity with EPIC systems is preferred.
