- Applies federal, state, and district policies and procedures in the delivery of school psychological services.
- Serves as a member of interdisciplinary teams to address the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of at-risk students.
- Has a strong understanding of pre-referral processes to help interpret data, offer interventions, and determine if, and when, additional evaluation/assessment is needed.
- Administers diagnostic assessments to students based on identified and/or suspected areas of need.
- Communicates results of psychoeducational evaluations to parents, teachers, and others so that they can understand the nature of the student's strengths and needs and how best to instruct and support the student.
- Recognizes the diversity within a school community and modify, or adapt, practice to meet the needs of all students.
- Performs multiple, complex, tasks.
- Serves as a consultant to staff, parents, and administrators to provide resources and education relevant to the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students across grades.
- Participates, when appropriate or needed, on crisis response teams.
